The course “Fashion English” takes an in-depth look at necessary fashion terms when working in the fashion industry. If you are pursuing a career as a buyer, stylist, designer, or journalist, this course will enhance your job prospects. Whether you work in Germany or outside of Germany, speaking the global language of English is a must in the fashion industry. You will learn to describe a silhouette using specific terminology and naming all the different parts of garments, such as shirts and jackets. You will become familiar with the various kinds of sleeves, necklines, lengths, pattern fabrics and the specific terms used when talking about embellishments. In addition, the course will teach you the basics of emailing and telephoning and how to deal with problems with your global suppliers. Finally, you will have the necessary language skills to explain concepts and marketing strategies to the creative team.

To achieve the maximum benefit of the course, speaking up and contributing your ideas and opinions in the lecture is paramount to your learning process. In basic English: Speak in class! Use it or lose it!
