Dr. Basu will give an introductory talk about blockchain in English. He is presently an academician with a background of thirty-four years corporate experience mainly in finance, accounting and reporting, strategic planning, and IT enablement functions. His last two corporate positions were that of the Global Group Controller and CFO of two large MNCs of India. He is a full time Senior Professor and Chairperson of MBA (Law) of NMIMS University School of Business Management in Mumbai, India. 

He is engaged in several research and consulting activities. His current areas of research include Industry 4.0, digital transformation, blockchain and CBDC. 

Dr. Basu is a fellow member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and a life member of the Computer Society of India. He was awarded Ph.D. degree by the Calcutta University in 1999. All India Management Association has conferred to him Fellow Membership (FIMA) in June 2021 for his significant contributions in the field of professional management.
